12th victory in as many finals for Peng, Hsieh

Peng Shuai and Hsieh Su-wei beat Sara Errani and Roberta Vinci 6-4, 6-1 in the women's doubles final at the French Open on Sunday to take their second Grand Slam title in the clash between the top-seeded women.

China's Peng and Chinese Taipei's Hsieh, both 28, extended their win-loss record to 12-0 in doubles finals with their victory on the Paris clay, building on the Wimbledon title they lifted last year.

The Italian pairing, seeded second, had won four of the last eight Grand Slams, including the 2012 Roland Garros crown and this year's Australian Open.

"Don't be sad ... you guys will win much more than us, so let us win this one," Peng said to her opponents at the trophy presentation on court.

Chinese fans sent their congratulations online after the pair won their second Grand Slam title.

"Having won all 12 finals in your career, Peng and Hsieh, you're the best!" one fan wrote on Sina Weibo. "Who else can do better than you?!"

"After Li Na was ousted in the first round, I had no expectations at all," another fan wrote. "Now you two won the doubles title. This is really a surprise for the fans."

Second-seeded Li was stunned by Frenchwoman Kristina Mladenovic 7-5, 3-6, 6-1 in the opening round.

Despite their No.1 world ranking in doubles, both -players have struggled to make an individual impression in the singles game. Hsieh has won just two WTA singles titles while Peng still has none. But it seems most Chinese fans really do not care.

"Being good at one particular thing is good enough," another fan commented. "-Whether it be singles or doubles, it's not easy to be champions."

Others argued that there is still a great gap between the performance in doubles and singles, and they still hope the pair can do better individually.

"Even at the final match of the doubles, there were not many fans," a fan wrote. "And the prize money is much less than in the singles. They -really should try to do better in -singles."
