No violent attacks took place in the Beijing subway Thursday, local police announced, after rumors caused a panicked rush at a large transfer station.
A large number of passengers charged in the transfer passage of Line 1 and Line 10 at Guomao Station around 6:20 pm Thursday. Many uploaded pictures, showing lost shoes and items on the ground, but said they were unclear about what happened.
Beijing police found out that a conflict took place between some passengers, which eventually triggered panic among the crowd who did not know the cause.
Two people sustained minor scratches as they ran.
