Nanjing Impression Restaurant's Shimao Department Store branch has prepared seasonal dishes for summer.

Their signature dishes for the season are oil-braised eel, pork steamed with ground rice and braised grayfish.

The eatery held a zongzi-making competition for families recently during Dragon Boat Festival, when the glutinous rice dumplings are typically eaten.

In the 20 years since Nanjing Impression was founded, it has made a lot of effort to preserve and reviving traditional Nanjing foods. By holding the competition, the restaurant hoped more families would make zongzi for themselves.

Nanjing Impression Restaurant's Shimao Department Store branch offers not only food, but also a place to rest. The restaurant's congee is sweet and tasty and its sweetened baby taro is a traditional Nanjing dish. Both are good comfort foods for a break during shopping.
