Baby giraffes in Yunnan not ready to meet public

Last November, 23 baby giraffes from South Africa arrived in Yunnan Province, southern China.  Half a year later, the giraffes at Yunnan’s wild animal zoo are still too shy to meet the public.

Some are still less than two years old... but with an average height of four-meters, they've grown a lot since they arrived. They need 5 meals a day, and live four-to-a-room.

Staff at the zoo say it took many weeks to gain the trust of the animals, and that it's too soon for them to "stick their neck out" and meet the public. So we'll all just have to wait till they get a little braver.
