Official suspended for groping woman at KTV

A government official in Yancheng, Jiangsu Province is on suspended leave after photos of him groping a woman at a KTV bar appeared online.

The photos show the Jianhu county official, surnamed Jiao, intimately embracing a woman between her thighs as she sits on a table in front of him.

The Web post claims the woman is a prostitute in a karaoke parlor. The author of the post was not identified.

Jiao quickly refuted the claim, saying although he had attended the reunion, the woman in a photograph was one of his old schoolmates.

The housing bureau official admitted to drinking, reported the Modern Express.

Net users showed little mercy for Jiao. Some argued that even if the woman is a classmate, a government official and Party member should never exhibit such vulgar behavior in public. Others doubted Jiao's claim that the woman is a classmate.

Many invoked the 'no harm, no foul' rule and argued that drinking and lewd behavior are just part of a school reunion.
