Man says 'I do' to girlfriend's bikini proposal request

Nothing says I'd do anything for love louder than a public wedding proposal on bended knee - in a pink bikini.

That was the challenge set for 20-year veteran plumber surnamed Lian, whose girlfriend had proposed that he sport hot pink swimwear in public in order to show he meant it.

"She wanted to see whether I really loved her and if I had the guts to do it," said Lian.

The Jiangsu province native, Lian, who is in his 40s, turned heads while strutting his stuff on the sidewalk in Dongguan, Guangdong province while holding a bouquet of flowers on May 14.

Lian popped the question at an office to a chorus of streamer cannons prepared by his coworkers.

The 30-something bride-to-be was moved by her scantily-clad man and said yes on the spot.

Liao, who studied in the UK for 10 years, currently works as an accountant at a company in Shenzhen. Lian has two grown children from a previous marriage.

Though the couple met 10 years ago, the relationship began to pick up when Lian began helping Liao renovate her apartment last year.

"It's hard to define love, but I just like Lian for his pureness and kind heart," said Liao.

Their families also blessed the marriage.

"It doesn't matter how he proposed, as long as they love each other. I only hope they will cherish their relationship," said Liao's mother.
