Senior Chinese official Wang Qishan has urged members of the Communist Party of China (CPC) to devote themselves to the country's reform drive.

Wang, chief of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI), made the remarks on Wednesday while inspecting the city of Linyi in east China's Shandong province.

Wang stressed that the anti-corruption situation remains grave and Party committees at all levels must shoulder responsibilities to discipline their Party groups.

While visiting a major wholesale mall that houses 60,000 brands, Wang urged privately-run companies to focus on their businesses and foster their own brands.

Wang urged greater efforts to develop the service industry as it plays a crucial role in industrial restructuring, boosting employment and improving people's livelihoods.

At a workshop in a vocational school where students were learning auto repair techniques, Wang urged them to hone their skills and rely on the skills to find good jobs.

"Employment is the biggest part of livelihood and it needs skills. Vocational training must be strengthened... especially for rural residents to help them boost work competency amid the fast industrialization and urbanization process," Wang said.

While visiting a mechanical engineering company, Wang called on various companies to pay equal attention to manufacturing and research by investing in technology and attracting talents.
