China's Ministry of Education has recently carried out a series of measures to ensure this year's National College Entrance Examination, or gaokao, is fair and safe.

The exam takes place from June 7 to 9.

The measures include destroying equipment that helps people cheat, cleaning up the online environment and keeping the area near the testing venues safe.

This year's measures put emphasis on smashing planned cheating groups and activities.

The Ministry of Education will also sign contracts with university enrolment committees in 31 provinces and regions to make sure every testing venue is responsible for security concerns during the three days of the gaokao.

The ministry will organize supervision trips in local testing venues before the exams take place.

Local education departments will continue to require students sign letters promising that they won't cheat on the examination.
