As part of the celebration marking the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between France and China, a French sweet foods media reception was held on April 23 in the French embassy in Beijing.

French Ambassador Sylvie Bermann and Fleur Pellerin, minister for Foreign Trade, the Promotion of Tourism and French Nationals Abroad, spoke at the event.

The event was jointly organized by France's Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry, L'Alliance, a professional food association, and CNPA, an alliance of French enterprises producing biscuits, cakes, sweets and chocolate.

The activity aimed to introduce French sweet foods, their history and culture to Chinese consumers, and help people better understand high-quality French products.

The organizers will hold promotional activities in Carrefour and Auchan supermarkets in China. They hope the sweet foods will be a pleasant surprise for the Chinese people.

The activity in Carrefour will last from April 22-May 5. The promotion at Auchan will run from May 7-May 18.
