Chinese premier meets Danish queen

Chinese Premier Li Keqiang met with Queen of Denmark Margrethe II here on Friday.

Li said China will continue to pursue sound and steady development of China-Denmark ties in line with the principle of mutual respect, equality and common development.

He called on the two countries to strengthen cooperation in areas including innovation, clean energy, culture and education, and environmental protection, and cooperation in building green and smart cities.

Li also urged the two sides to provide a fairer, more transparent, open and stable investment and operation environment to help boost corporations.

Queen Margrethe II said she was delighted to be in China 35 years after her first visit and to experience the country's huge transformation.

She said she hoped the two countries could further expand exchanges and cooperation in all areas and promote a greater progress of the bilateral ties.

The queen is paying a state visit to China from Thursday to Monday at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping. After her stay in Beijing, she will visit Nanjing and Suzhou in east China's Jiangsu Province, Jiaxing in east Zhejiang Province and Shanghai municipality.
