At 7 am on April 20, a man jumped off Yuting Bridge in Fengtai district onto a railway track and was killed. As a result of the incident, inter-city trains between Beijing and Tianjin were delayed, the Beijing Evening News reported.

By that afternoon, the Beijing-Tianjin railway had basically resumed normal operation. A publicity staffer from Beijing South Railway Station said that they could not reveal more details concerning the train delays. The identity of the man and the motive for his behavior are still under investigation.

Workers have installed barbed fence on the bridge to deter other jumpers.
