Shanghai will host the China (Shanghai) International Technology Fair at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center from April 24 to April 26, organizers said Thursday.
The fair will feature 155 overseas companies, 23 percent of total exhibitors, displaying high-tech products and services concerning biotech, new materials, new energy, cloud computing, garbage disposal, water supply, robot making, as well as various individual inventions.
Tesla electric cars will make their Chinese mainland debut at the fair, organizers said.
Xu Kuangdi, honorary president of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, will give the keynote speech at the opening ceremony.
More than 20,000 professional visitors are expected to attend the fair, China's biggest platform for trading technology.
With China's growing demand for technology due to industrial upgrading, trade of technology in the country has increased 25 times from 1978 to US$93.1 billion in 2013, according to the Shanghai Commission of Commerce.
Shanghai?s technology trade was worth US$12.9 billion last year.
