Mandopop star Jay Chou was reportedly stopped by Australian customs officials while on his most recent tour for carrying 28 pairs of nunchakus in is luggage.

Though Chou uses the weapon made famous by Bruce Lee as a prop during the performance of his hit song of the same name, Australian customs had him singing the blues after they detained him and his entourage at a Sydney airport last week.

Chou and crew were released but relieved of their very real weaponry.

The pop music mega star reportedly managed to arm himself again with the help of local fans in time for his Friday gig in Sydney.

Even the Ministry of Public Security commented on Chou's woes.

"A celebrity surnamed Chou was held for interrogation for suspicion of carrying a large quantity of weapons … nunchakus is a short weapon and is not allowed on a plane," the ministry's public security administration bureau commented on their official Sina Weibo account Monday.

While most commenting online found the news entertaining, some pointed out that Chou should remember to only bring a "reasonable number of nunchakus to avoid any misunderstandings."

Possession of nunchakus is illegal in some European countries, including Germany and Norway, as well as in some US states, such as California and New York.
