The Palace Museum is planning to adjust ticket prices and limit the number of daily visitors, said museum curator Shan Jixiang, the Beijing Youth Daily reported.

According to measures proposed to better manage visitors, multi-use annual passes will be issued at prices ranging from 100 yuan ($16.10) to 300 yuan. For example, the 200 yuan pass allows six visits a year for an adult, and the 100 yuan pass for senior citizens and students also allows six visits.

To encourage more visitors to avoid the crowds during peak hours (10 am-1 pm), the Palace Museum also plans to reduce admission fees for visitors who arrive after 2 pm. Every year, two ticket-free days during off-peak season will also be established for visitors.
