China Fashion Week opens on Monday, featuring the 2014/15 autumn/winter collection. This is the event's 18th year. Designers, both veterans and newbies, will showcase their collections in the coming week.

Preparation is well underway for the opening show at China Fashion Week. Traditional Chinese styles, slim cuts and featuring elaborate patterns, are the order of the day demonstrating timeless elegance for the inaugural show. The show's director and designers have worked together to select the right attire for each model, also attempting to add an international element to the show.

"This is the first time the models have tried on the dresses for the opening day. It's important to match the designs and adjust details. Chinese clothes combine unique cultural tastes, but Chinese designers are also very international." said Wang Hongmin, Show Director.

At the same time, preparation for another show featuring upcoming designer Ban Xiaoxue's is also underway. This is the first time he has participated in China Fashion Week, which has been attracting more and more young designers and bringing them fame and fortune.

"It is really lucky for designers to come to Beijing and showcase their work at China Fashion Week. The event has done a lot to help young designers. We're very happy." said Ban Xiaoxue, Designer.

There are a total of 47 designers from home and abroad taking part in 30 shows during the week-long fashion extravaganza.
