Restaurant vandalized

Police have begun investigating who smashed up a steamed bun restaurant in Hongkou district over the weekend, local media reported Monday.

The restaurant's staff called the police after discovering the damage Sunday morning. Police examined the surveillance video footage from the area and found a gang of people getting off a truck nearby prior to the incident.

Police suspect the incident is related to a dispute over the restaurant's lease.
