A survey by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Statistics and the Beijing branch of China's National Bureau of Statistic showed that the top three types of cultural consumption that Beijing residents engage in are: watching TV, surfing the Internet and reading the news, the Beijing Morning Post reported.
The survey showed that 95 percent of interviewees watch TV and that about one-third of local residents surf the Internet for more than two hours a day - much more time than is spent reading newspapers. The least popular activities were watching performances, attending educational training and going to the gym.
