Xi will explain China's stance on nuclear security and present ideas for international cooperation in the field during the summit, according to Chinese Foreign Ministry officials.

The president is also expected to introduce China's achievements and plans in strengthening nuclear security, and discuss cooperation with global leaders.

Xi arrived in the Netherlands Saturday for a state visit and the third Nuclear Security Summit (NSS) in the Hague slated for Monday and Tuesday. He will also visit France, Germany and Belgium in the coming days.

The NSS has become an important platform to address nuclear security issues since its first meeting in Washington in 2010. The second meeting was held in Seoul in 2012.
