Chinese vice president meets Cambodian King

Chinese Vice President Li Yuanchao met with Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni and his mother, former Queen Norodom Monineath Sihanouk, here on Friday afternoon.

Li was entrusted by President Xi Jinping. He praised the Cambodian royal family's long-standing contribution to state-to-state ties.

China cherishes the special friendship with the Cambodian royal family, Li said, adding that China will deepen cooperation with Cambodia and seek to carry forward the traditional friendship of the two countries.

The visiting royals, who are here for a routine medical checkup, expressed gratitude to China's long-term help and friendship, saying the Cambodian royal family will make unswerving efforts to cement bilateral relations.
