Airport bomb joker

A man was detained by police at Capital International Airport for falsely claiming to be carrying a concealed bomb, the Beijing Youth Daily reported.

At 5 pm on March 18, when asked to take off his shoes for a security check, the passenger shouted, "Should I take off my pants too? I have a bomb in my ass." The screener asked the passenger for clarification, and the man repeated the statement. The airport immediately launched the emergency contingency plan.

Taken to the police station for further investigation, the passenger told the police that he had made the joke about having a bomb because he was rushing to catch a flight and annoyed at the security check for delaying him.

The passenger was detained for five days for disturbing public order, according to the airport police.
