A baby was born after a motorcycle accident killed his father and pregnant mother in the East China city of Xiamen, Fujian Province on Tuesday.
After the mother was hit by the truck, one witness said, she gave birth to the boy on the spot. Others alleged the 4.2-kilogram baby had thrown out of the woman's belly and found three meters away.
The boy was in stable condition at a Haicang district hospital on Tuesday, Southeast Express reported. "The boy was brought to hospital 9:30 am with bruises to face, arms and legs," a hospital worker told the Fujian-based paper.
The wife, 40, had reportedly been experiencing labor pains about 8:30 am on Tuesday when she and her husband, 42, approached the junction of Maqing Lu and Jiaosong Lu.
A 45-year-old truck driver who allegedly turned across the road into the bike is being held in criminal custody.
Xiamen Charity Federation donated 5,000 yuan ($806.5) to the hospital for the family.
One woman who saw the story online brought baby products to the hospital.
Nobody was fully named in the article.
