Legendary British rock band The Rolling Stones rocked Shanghai on Wednesday night at the city's Mercedes-Benz Arena, as part of their "14 On Fire" tour.

The concert came eight years after the Stones' China debut at Shanghai's Grand Theater. Thousands of fans packed the arena, and some say they were thrilled to see history being made.

Many Stones fans say this song - "Miss You", from 1978 - is among the band's greatest. It was the biggest hit from the disco-oriented 1978 album "Some Girls".

The ageing British rockers - Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood, performed it on a stage in the shape of the band's ubiquitous tongue and lips logo, which extended out into the audience.

All of them are now over 70.

"I love the band. It never dies in my heart," said a fan named Qin Jiajie.

The Rolling Stones emerged alongside the Beatles in the early 1960s to become one of the most successful groups in rock-and-roll history. They were recently crowned "Best Live Band" at the NME Awards in London.

In 2012, the documentary "Crossfire Hurricane" marked the Stones' 50th anniversary. They still work hard. Last year, they went on a big US tour. And their two Hyde Park concerts in London in front of 120,000 fans are chronicled in a new concert film "Sweet Summer Sun - Hyde Park Live."
