China Disabled Persons' Federation (CDPF) President Zhang Haidi has hailed the disabled athletes as real heroes.

Zhang, known as China's Helen Keller, said after China's Paralympic wheelchair curling game against Norway on Saturday afternoon that the disabled athletes who demonstrate the human strength with their endeavors and inspirations are "the real heroes in our life".

Zhang encouraged people with disabilities to fight for their goals.

"If one has a brave heart, he or she can reach their goals and make the impossible possible," she said.

Meanwhile, Zhang said medal is not all that matters, adding the most important thing is to enjoy life and sports.

"We should never let our brothers and sisters who have disabilities to suffer more agony and push them to challenge the limit of life," she said, adding sports is meant to help them rehabilitate and fit into social life.
