More tourists in Beijing

According to Beijing tourism authorities, the 72-hour visa-free stay policy took effect a year after being approved on January 1, 2013. In January of 2014, 1,746 foreign tourists passed through Beijing Capital International Airport - a year-on-year increase of 184.8 percent, qianlong.com reported.

The tourism authorities cooperated with mainstream media all over the world to advertise Beijing tourism; it promoted the 72-hour visa-free stay policy on Facebook with the help of nearly 30,000 followers. The authorities are working very actively to coordinate relevant departments, add more airport limos and collaborate with other cities that have the same visa-free stay policy.
