University president sacked for taking bribes

President of a university in southwest China's Sichuan Province was thrown out of office for "taking a huge amount of property", the provincial discipline watchdog said on Monday.

Fan Xinjian, also former deputy secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) committee of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, has been expelled from the Party, the CPC provincial discipline inspectors said.
