A former inspector from the Red Cross Society of China's Sichuan branch is under investigation for suspected serious violations of discipline, according to China's Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI).

Wen Jiabi, 61, is the second official from the Sichuan branch to be investigated after the fall of Qu Songzhi, wife of Li Chuncheng, former deputy Party chief of Sichuan.

Wen served as the Party secretary of the society's Sichuan branch between 2009 and 2012, during which time Qu worked as the Party chief of the society's sub-branch in Chengdu, capital of Sichuan province.

Li was the first provincial-level official sacked after the 18th National Congress of the CPC.
