Some hospitals were exposed by China Central Television (CCTV) as having purchased fake awards to mislead the public into trusting them, the Beijing Youth Daily reported.

Trophies for top ten best hospitals and the top ten best pharmaceutical companies were available by giving 28,000 yuan ($4617.20) to the Institute for China Hospital Management, which falsely claimed to be affiliated with the National Health and Family Planning Commission, CCTV reported.

Authorities from the 302 Military Hospital of China said that they receive many notifications about hospital ratings every year that seem very credible, but that the dirty tricks behind the scenes harm the interests of the patients.
