Xinjiang police busts

Police in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region arrested 1,089 criminal suspects, confiscated more than 11 million yuan ($1.8 million) worth of illicit assets and busted 54 gangs in a recent campaign against criminality, the Legal Daily reported on Monday.

Xinjiang police have focused on robberies, theft and fraud. The police have solved a total of 3,335 cases, including 24 murders.
