Passengers on a Joy Air flight that was delayed after the plane's nose touched the ground on landing in Zhengzhou, Henan province, on Tuesday have been given 200 yuan ($33) each as compensation, Xinhua News Agency reported on Wednesday.

The flight, operated by a Modern Ark 60, a domestically produced turboprop aircraft, left Taiyuan in Shanxi province for Hefei in Anhui province, with a stopover at Zhengzhou.

The incident happened during landing at Xinzheng International Airport in Zhengzhou on Tuesday evening when the landing gear retracted unexpectedly.

No casualties were reported, but the airport was closed for four hours, causing flight delays.
