China's short track speedskating team will need to cope without Wang Meng, the country's most successful winter Olympian, who was ruled out of the Games due to an ankle fracture. In Figure Skating, China's famous pair Pang Qing and Tong Jian will try to prove again that love is on the ice, as well as in the air. The couple won silver in the Vancouver games of 2010.

Li Nina, a freestyle skier, nicknamed Snow Princess, has made a comeback last year after retiring with silver medals in aerials in Vancouver. Sochi will surely be the last chance for gold for the 31-year-old.

And after winning one bronze in curling in Vancouver, this team of female Chinese curlers, who have been training under Canadian champion Marcel Rocque, will slide on the ice again for a chance at gold in Sochi.
