A riot occurred Thursday night at an airport in Central China's Henan province as more than 2,000 passengers were trapped in the airport for five and half hours due to heavy snow, according to Nanfang Daily's official Sina Weibo account.
Angry passengers were seen smashing computers and chairs at Xinzheng International Airport in Zhengzhou, the capital of Henan province.
The airport was closed at 4:30 pm and more than 100 flights were delayed on Thursday due to the snow, local news portal dahe.cn reported.
The airport was re-opened at 10 pm Thursday night, an employee at the airport confirmed with the Global Times.
