The average life expectancy of Shanghai residents rose to 82.47 years in 2013 from 82.41 years in 2012, the city's health authority said Sunday.

The city's maternal mortality rate dropped to 7.08 deaths per 100,000 from 7.10 deaths per 100,000 the previous year, while the infant mortality rate rose to 5.73 deaths per 1,000 from 5.04 deaths per 1,000 in 2012.

The three standards have stayed at levels comparable with developed countries for the last 10 years.
