China has formally announced the delegation for the Sochi Winter Olympic Games, although star speed skater Wang Meng is missing from the list, following her recent injuries.

The Chinese delegation to the Sochi Winter Olympic Games was formally announced on Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014 in Beijing, marking China's 13th consecutive participation in the Winter Olympic Games since 1980.

China's Sochi delegation will consist of 139 people, including 66 athletes. Wang Meng, China's star short track speed skater, did not find her name on the list. Wang, who was a medal hopeful, recently suffered serious injuries during training. Sports medics later ruled out the possibility of her competing in Russia.

Some 6,000 athletes from 85 countries and regions will compete in the Sochi Games from Feb. 7 to Feb. 23, according to the organizing committee for the games.
