Botafogo have agreed a three million US-dollar-deal with Chinese Super League club Henan Jianye for striker Rafael Marques.

The 30-year-old will travel to China next Monday (Jan. 27) to undergo a medical exam and sign a contract, Lancenet reported on Tuesday.

The announcement comes less than a week after Botafogo sold another forward - Hyuri - to Henan Jianye's Chinese rivals Guizhou Renhe.

"Botafogo sees his [Marques'] sale as an opportunity to alleviate its debt," the news website said.

The transfer fee is understood to represent 50% of the player's economic rights.

Marques was signed by Botafogo in 2012 and did not score his first goal for the club until his 21st appearance.

He found his scoring touch in 2013, netting 19 times in all competitions as Botafogo won the Rio state championship and finished fourth in the league.
