About 20 million pieces of check-in information were leaked in October because of security vulnerabilities of a service provider who offered services to 4,500 hotels, the Mirror Evening News reported.

About 220,000 pieces of the information are from Beijing residents, including 29,063 pieces of information from women aged from 18 to 30.

A middle-aged man changed his family name because of the incident, the report said.

The man had sued HanTing Hotel and asked for a compensation of 200,000 yuan ($33,000).
