The Beijing-based Qing-Feng Steamed Dumpling Shop on Monday denied supplying dumplings to a Nanjing hotel that claimed it had supplied authentic Qing-Feng steamed dumplings to deputies at meetings of the People's Congress of Jiangsu province and Jiangsu provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).

The Beijing Morning Post reported that the Qing-Feng Steamed Dumpling Shop said that the shop did not supply dumplings to the Jiangsu meetings, calling it an infringement of intellectual property rights.

The Yangtze Evening Post reported Monday that the Huadong Hotel in Nanjing offered the deputies Qing-Feng steamed dumplings and a pork dish for each table during the meetings.

The dumplings were filled with pork and scallion, the same flavor preferred by Chinese President Xi Jinping, but the dumplings offered to deputies were smaller than regular.

The publicity office of the CPPCC Jiangsu provincial Committee confirmed to The Beijing News Monday that the dumplings were made by the hotel.

A hotel staff member said the dumplings were only offered on Sunday.
