Forest police have found the carcass of a leopard, listed as a first class protected animal, in Hunagling county, Shaanxi province, Xi'an Evening News reported on Monday.
The county's forest police raided a site on Jan 17 in the mountainous area of Ziwuling and discovered the body of the female leopard. One suspect was detained and another is being sought. Leopard are endangered animals and fewer of them exist than tigers.
