Senior falls to her death

An 85-year-old woman fell from her apartment on the fifth floor of a residential building in Xuhui district Thursday morning, the local news portal eastday.com reported.

A neighbor found the woman's body on a platform on the building's first floor. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Neighbors said that the woman, who lived alone, was frequently visited by her six sons and daughters. Her youngest son had visited her the previous night.

The woman, who was in good health, was seen talking with others from the neighborhood committee the day before the fall. Police were still investigating the case Thursday.
