Official in Hubei placed investigated

A female official in Hubei province is under investigation for suspected disciplinary violations, the country's top disciplinary authority said on its website on Monday.

The authority said Zheng Xinghua, deputy mayor of Yichang, is suspected of seriously breaching discipline and is being investigated, but it did not give more details.

Zheng, born in 1959 and a native of Wuhan, was appointed deputy mayor in January 2012 while she was also director of the city's land and resources authority, the website added.
