Nordic players dominate 2014 FIS Tour de Ski Changchun Stage

Two Nordic players dominated the 2014 FIS Tour de Ski Changchun Stage China in Changchun on Wednesday.

Victor Gustafsson from Sweden won the men's 1.55km F Sprint Final, while Bruland Astrid from Norway claimed the women's 1.55km Sprint Final.

Hosts China only got a bronze in the women's event.

"I can ski since I was able to walk, so I can get the champion in the race," Gustafsson said in smile after the game.

The Swede can't represent his country in the Sochi Winter Olympics, but winning here and scoring points do make him very excited. He also promises to come here again next year to pursue good luck.

Astrid kept her lead from the beginning to the end. Although Chinese skiers Ma Qinghua and Yang Liu showed their strong competitiveness, they could not beat Astrid on home soil.

The tournament attracted 82 skiers from four continents, 10 countries.Chinese players accounts for about half.

On Jan. 2, the 12th Vasaloppet China festival will open, and the Vasaloppet 45km race, the FIS long-distance scoring match will be held.
