Police: Violent attack in Xinjiang a terrorist attack

Police in Xinjiang have blamed a group of 9 terrorists for attacking a police station in Kashgar, in the far west of the region. They say the terrorists threw explosive at the station, and ignited a police vehicle. Eight of the attackers were shot dead at the scene, and one was captured.

Police say the incident was a planned terrorist attack, launched by a group of extremists with self-made explosives and other weapons.
