Chinese Vice President Li Yuanchao met with President of French Polynesia Gaston Flosse in Beijing on Tuesday.

Li spoke highly of the traditional friendship and cooperation between the two countries. He said Papeete is one of the most important ports for Chinese research vessels to resupply.

Li also called on the two countries to continue to conduct close engagement, and promote cooperation in areas including trade, tourism, investment and agriculture.

Flosse echoed Li saying he hoped French Polynesia and China would continue to strengthen cooperation.
