Dandelion seed growing in girl's ear canal

A dandelion seed lodged in a toddler's ear and was growing in the ear canal, People.com reported on Wednesday.

The 16-month-old girl's mother said her daughter was crying a lot and she took her to a hospital.

Doctors were surprised to find a dandelion seed, which had partly flowered and had grown up to some 2 cm long in the ear canal.

Wang said that her daughter had been complaining about an earache for four months but both parents had dismissed her complaints.

An operation on Monday cleared the girl's ear canal.
