Shop girl fights off thief

A 46-year-old man attempted to rob a downtown shoe store by attacking a shop assistant with a knife and a brick Saturday night, local media reported.

The 25-year-old shop assistant suffered injuries to her head and hands, but still managed to fight off the robber before he could take any money. The suspect, from Guangdong province, was arrested at a nearby residential compound.
