IKEA briefly shuts doors

IKEA Shanghai temporarily closed its Xuhui store Sunday morning after one of its employees climbed up a high shelf and threatened to jump off, local media reported.

Police and firemen cordoned off the area and detained the employee.

IKEA's official microblog said the store closed because of "an emergency breakdown."

The store reopened its doors at 12:30 pm.
