Falls plague seniors

More than 68 percent of seniors who went to local hospitals with injuries were treated for falling down, the city's health and family planning commission said Thursday.

In 2012, 1,690 residents over age 65 died from injuries sustained from a fall, making up 85.3 percent of the total.

The commission called on the public to increase awareness about the problem.
