Marriage registration procedures will be simplified, Beijing Civil Affairs Bureau said on Wednesday.
People who want to get married no longer have to submit marriage registration certifications provided by the bureaus that match their household registration locations. They can now choose any marriage registration center in Beijing.
Li Hongbing, a spokesman for the bureau, said that the past method of requiring people to go back to their household registration places to get certification papers is an extra burden.
The policy change will allow them to easily access the marriage registration database, cutting extra administrative barriers, he said.
