A 4-year-old girl who was abandoned in a kindergarten in Liaoning province says she hopes her parents will bring her home, Shenyang Evening News reported on Tuesday.

Ling Ling (not her real name) was taken to the kindergarten in Shenyang, the provincial capital, by a friend of her father on Nov 1. Ling Ling has not seen her parents since.

The kindergarten tried to contact Ling Ling's father in the evening after no one picked her up, but her father's phone was turned off, and her mother told the kindergarten that she was in Beijing and could not get to Shenyang. The mother also said she cannot afford to take care of the girl. Ling Ling's grandparents also refused to take the girl.

The kindergarten reported the situation to police, who were unable to persuade the girl's parents to get the girl.

School officials said they hope the parents take responsibility for the girl, who has been living in the kindergarten.
