An exhibition of paintings, calligraphy works and personal files of China's first premier Zhou Enlai opened at the Great Hall of the People on Tuesday afternoon.

Many of the items, some even borrowed from the State Archives of Russia, are on display for the first time to commemorate Zhou's 115th birthday anniversary.

Artists' works and international political celebrities' inscriptions are on display along with an original copy of the well-known portrait Zhou Enlai Lost in Deep Thought taken by Italian photographer Giorgio Lotti in 1973.

Zhou's handwriting can be found in Russian in nearly all the files on exhibit. A full-scale statue is also displayed.

The exhibition will last two days in Beijing and will open in Shanghai from Nov 15 to 30.
