One was killed and two were seriously injured after an empty passenger train slipped and collided with another passenger train on the Qinghai-Tibet railway in Qinghai Province on Wednesday night, local authorities said Thursday.

The passenger who died was stuck between two carriages and was rescued out at around 1:40 a.m. Thursday morning. The victim later died in hospital.

The accident happened at around 8:10 p.m. Wednesday. More than 50 people have been taken to hospital as of Thursday morning.
